Dedicant training takes place in a series of classes, often bi-weekly. These classes may be open to other women who aren’t dedicants, and these classes are a requirement for initiation. These classes teach Wicca from our perspective, and include homework and activities. Even if you have taken Wicca 101 before, you must take our classes in order to train in our tradition.
Classes usually are 2 hours long and are held at a private residence. Homework will be submitted electronically online via a class portal. Additional resources for learning will also be provided.
There is a small cost / energy exchange for classes. For those who cannot pay ($5-$10 per class) , a list of acceptable energy exchanges will be provided (homemade baked goods, other items).
Initiate training is somewhat self-paced, in addition to classes taught by sister coveners. We have a 3 degree system, and from first degree to second degree, it is self-paced and includes independent study, coven leadership work and multiple projects. It usually takes around one year from first degree to second degree (every sister is expected to get to second degree).
From second degree, one may choose whether she wants to become a coven high priestess- third degree. This path isn’t for everyone, and the path to priestess is a commitment- involving lots of writing, projects, reading, practicing, and training. There are other requirements, besides being of the second degree, and this path may take one year, or several years to accomplish. The responsibility of the high priestess is great, and is not for everyone.
If you are not within driving distance, and are interested in training, contact Ivy at firstname.lastname@example.org. Distance training may be possible, but there will be cost associated with the training.
